My sister-in-law, Mary, got me this t-shirt for my birthday last month and I just love it. It epitomizes what a good midwestern girl stands for and it also sums up a special project my sister, Courtney, and I are working on. Hopefully more on that to come in the future...
The most important aspect of being a photographer, to me, is capturing historic moments that can be viewed by generations to come. As a photographer, I am creating heirlooms and priceless memories that can not be replaced.
I was honored to work on a few projects recently that will assist in preserving some special moments in history that will never be recreated.
This photo below was taken by a staff photographer at the Chicago Tribune in July of 1953. This is Chad's dad, on the right, and his twin brother on the left. At the age of two, they were picked up by the police for wandering almost one mile away from home. They were spotted walking down the street together holding hands at 66th and Normal Blvd. in Englewood. The photo below was taken at the Chicago Police Department while they were waiting to be picked up by their parents.
After photo restoration:
This is another photo that was badly damaged and in danger of being eventually destroyed. This is a family friend's favorite photo of his parents. He had it restored for his mother.
I came across this site with the most amazing vintage inspired wedding dresses. Stephanie James Couture is a husband and wife team that does photography and also designs wedding dresses and accessories out in California.
Everyday I see something new and inspiring that makes me wish I could do my wedding all over. This is definitely one of them.
Everytime I pick up my camera, my heart starts beating a little faster.
I am a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP), which is not that common...that test nearly kicked my butt. I am also a proud member of Professional Photographer of America (PPA), Professional Photographers of America - Northern Illinois (PPANI) and Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI).
I am a hugger. I am shorter than people think. I try keeping life simple. I love home improvement projects. I love a spontaneous dance party and I keep music playing in our home 24/7. I eat more cereal than Jerry Seinfeld. I call Geneva, Illinois home.
Drop me a line if you saw something that made you smile.
