Leigh, Josh, Reilly & Miles

This will have to be a quick post...I am up in Duluth, Minnesota and am getting ready to run out the door. Brynn and I tagged along with Chad while he travels for work and Brynn and I have a day of fun planned...first the hotel pool, then the zoo, then some lunch and shopping. Busy day ahead of us!

Last week I got to spend some time with one of my favorite people in the whole world. My best friend, Leigh, and her family were in town and asked me to do some family shots for them. Leigh also has started doing photography in the Springfield area. Check her out here :) She is awesome! So we also did a few headshots of her for her new site and blog. Leigh and I have been friends since middle school and were even roommates in college. We have the type of friendship that even when we don't see each other or talk for a little while that when we do get together it is like no time has passed at all.

Leigh and her sweet little boy, Miles.

He was a little shy with my camera at first, but I got him talking about soccer and school and before I knew it, he was making eye contact with me :D Look at his outfit! Isn't it the cutest??

This family is so cute that they had people stopping them on the street to tell them what an adorable family they were.

Josh & little Reilly. Reilly was such a good girl and let me take her photo all day. She was hamming it up.

LOVE this one.

A few of my favorite headshots of Leigh. I had so many more I was going to post, but I had to narrow it down. I am sure she won't like any of the ones I picked out...she is a tough customer!

These last ones are my personal faves...She is such a natural beauty.

Gotta run...Brynn is screaming "No WORKING MOM!!!"
Enjoy!
P.S. I meant to include a special thank you to Mrs. Lando for letting me shoot on her property at her shop downtown St. Charles. If you get a chance, drop by and visit her at Stonehouse on Cedar. She has "antiques and simple objects." You will love it. She also gave me that red metal antique chair I used with Nikki & Steve's maternity shoot. Thank you!!!

Nikki & Steve

There must be something in the water...I think just about everyone I know has a bun in the oven right now :) It's good for me because I love doing maternity photos.

Nikki and I have know each other for a long time. She is an all-american, fun-loving girl who I looked up to when I was younger. She had the little red volkswagon convertible in high school that I drooled over and secretly coveted. I would probably have hated her if she wasn't so darn nice and so much fun to be around.

Nikki, or "Nicole" (her grown-up name) is having a baby boy in December!

Nikki and her husband Steve live in the LA area now, but were in town for her baby shower at her sister's amazing house in downtown Geneva. Her sister, Kristy (a post of pics of her and her little family coming soon) has a little boy too, so Nikki's guy will have already have a playmate from birth.

My personal fave.

See the hoops I make people jump through? :D This was technically my second time meeting Steve, but my first time actually getting to know him. His personality is so sincere and genuine. He is just an all around nice guy.

September is such an unpredictable month for weather in Chicago...we were all sweltering in the heat by the end of our session, but we had such a good time and got them done in record time. Nikki was totally up for anything, it was great.
Nikki and Steve, I had such a good time with you both. It was great to catch up with you and thank you for letting me document this amazing time in your life. Get ready, your lives will change in ways you never thought possible :) but it is worth it. I can't wait to meet your little guy. Steve, I definitely am taking you up on the offer to teach me to surf. When can I come out to visit? ;)

Heidi, John & Karleigh

Wow, it has been a busy week. I can't believe I haven't blogged since last Thursday...where does the time go?? I have had some great sessions in the past week that I can't wait to share, all in good time. I even got to go to a wedding this past weekend as a guest!

Last week I met up with Heidi, John & Karleigh in quaint, historic downtown Frankfort. Heidi and John are getting married next spring, which I can't wait to be a part of, and after spending some time with them I am looking forward to it even more. Heidi's daughter, sweet Karleigh, was cracking me up the whole time. She is such a ham in front of that camera and she also had some great ideas for some shots.

Karleigh, you rock girlfriend! I love your "bling!"

Look at the sass and spunk this girl has! She totally stole the show.

Finally, a little alone time for me, Heidi and John...

Heidi will be such a beautiful bride.

No more serious business...now it was playtime!

Hello Levi ad. Aren't they so cute in their matching 501's?

Heidi, John & Karleigh, thank you so much for being so fun to work with and finally giving me an excuse to shoot in Frankfort. I can't wait for the spring!!
