Family vacay

Heading up to Door County for our annual family vacation.  Looking forward to getting away from the everyday life at the moment and just enjoying loving on my family.  Looks like our dog Berkeley won't be making anymore family vacations with us :'( He will be going to a better place tomorrow.  Your prayers for some strength would be most appreciated.  I am a total mess.

Things will be brighter when we get home next week.

Here are just a few sessions I am working on right now...

Have a great week.  Lots of love. - K

Happy Girl.

I needed something to put a smile on my face after another hard conversation with our veterinarian today.  This did the trick.

A nice history

There is just something so heartwarming and so tender to me about reconnecting with old friends.  I love the naturalness and genuine enjoyment of being with someone who has known you for longer than most other people you see on a regular basis.  They've seen you at your best and at your worst growing up at school everyday.  Sure, everyone goes their separate ways, but there is always that common denominator of knowing where each other came from.  You don't have to try hard to impress or share stories from your past.  They already know you.  They share a lot of the same stories.

Dance routines, powder puff, country drives, 4x100 relay team in middle school, boys, etc.  These are all great memories I have with Kristen.  I could not have been more happy to capture her in her element with her beautiful family.  You've done well for yourself, my friend.

Kristen & Patrick's third baby, Riggins, is just a few weeks older than Kyler.  When she said she was pregnant with her third, I felt overwhelmed for her and wondered if Chad & I had it in us to have a third.  (Well I guess we answered that question). She handles it all in stride.

Love this series.

Are we going to see Carrie Underwood?? ;)

More babies!

I happened to be in the car with Chad the other night when he stopped off for a car wash.  He was busy all weekend with preparations for working with his new boss all this week.  I am talking Monday morning through late Friday night.  How fun does that sound?  Sounds like hard work to me.

"You only get one chance to make a good first impression," he smiled coyly as we entered the car wash. As the water soaked the car and the suds started rising, he did something I found to be completely unheard of: he turned on the windshield wipers.

Now I don't know about you, but I like to try to get rid of that impossible arch on my windshield that never seems to go away.  I won't use my wipers for days afterwards with hopes of keeping my windshield clear, and here he is making one.  I was in disbelief.  WHAT are you doing???

"I am helping scrub the windshield.  See, it's getting cleaner already."

I really didn't see it, but I took a deep breath and tried not to cringe.  And such is marriage.  Sometimes agreeing to disagree.

But other times marriage is very much about agreeing.  Agreeing that you have created the cutest baby on. the. earth.

Like these babies...

Sweet Natalie is the beautiful offspring of Ashley & Marty (of my Buffalo, NY wedding from 2009).

And also a congrats to Morgan & Nick (I did their engagement session in 2009) on the arrival of adorable William.

May all of you only have the use of car washes to disagree about.
