It was just too hard to decide, so after reading all the nominations, I had to pick a family randomly. All of the families were so deserving and their stories broke my heart.
I am looking forward to having a session with the Guvenoz family of Geneva. Becki Drake nominated this deserving family. Here is what she had to say...
I would like to nominate my dear friend, Nicole Guvenoz. Nicole is an amazing mother of five living in Mill Creek. When Dayton & Cooper, Nicole's 2.5 year old twins (#4/5) were just a few months old, Lewis (daddy), suffered massive cardiac arrest in their kitchen. Through extensive CPR (performed by Nicole via 911 operators) and miracle like actions of the Elburn fire department, Lewis was revived. He has, however, suffered an anoxic brain injury leaving him paralized (like he can't move at ALL) and completely incapacitated.
After many months in and out of hospitals, rehab centers, etc...Lewis is at home now in his old office in a hospital bed with care round the clock.
Nicole has been the most positive and amazing person though out her tragedy. With her motto "no bad news" and the support of her family, the children have been allowed to continue their lives with very little changes. This is her ultimate goal. She is more deserving of any good deed ANYONE would/could provide. I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for her.
Guvenoz Family, I can't wait to meet and get to know you. Becky, thank you for touching my heart.
(Thank you Miss Amber Apple)
Great choice!!! Definitely a very deserving family!
