Man down

So this is it. The last post until next week. I am officially "out of the country. Washing my hair." Who can name the movie? One of the best movies ever from the 80's: "Can't Buy Me Love." Who didn't want to be Cindy Mancini??

Well, I learned how to post videos now. I just got the Flip Video camera and it is awesome. Get ready for lots of clips of my kids ;) haha.

Well, let me preface this video with no one was injured while filiming this footage. This is Brynn getting pulled behind the snowmobile last weekend at the cabin. The little bobble-head is wearing my kid's XL sized helmet.

"Man down."

The snow was deep. Brynn loved palling around with her dad and setting up the tip- ups on the ice to catch some walleye. Everytime the flags went up they would go check them out together and she would come in and announce, "False alarm."

This was Ky's first trip up north.

We were lucky enough to be in town the same weekend as the "Radar Run" fundraiser at Bent's Camp. There were hundreds and hundreds of snowmobilers everywhere.

Brynn loved taking in all the sights...

like the guy with the coyote hat...

and the infamous "Bikini Run"...
No joke. It was about -20 degrees windchill when you are going 108mph in a bikini.

She got a kick out of it.

This is what we enjoy mostly at the cabin...getting snuggly.

Grandma Van & the Ky man.

He loved being outdoors too.

"I can't put my arms down."

Brynn kept telling Chad to "go faster" on the snowmobile.

Switching gears...as I mentioned earlier this week, we went to the launch party for the Matilda Jane Hammond Bay Spring Collection at my friend Kersten's adorable house.
Brynn enjoyed picking out something special.

The women's line is growing. I can't wait for the second launch in March. There are some really cute things coming out.

Ky was a good sport even though he was the only guy there with all the ladies.

One last video...this is Brynn insisting on feeding Ky some peaches the other morning. Be sure to have your volume on, or it is not funny. Maybe I am biased, but I think it is cute.

Talk to you when I get back to work on March 1st! :D Have a great week everybody!

Handsome Little Devils

So blogging machine, I am not. I need about 10 more hours in everday to get everything done on my to-do lists. Yes, I said "lists" -- I keep a "work to-do list" and a "home to-do list." They both overwhelm me on a daily basis.

A couple random musings I had this week:

1. Why oh why does Jake like Vienna? Is he the only person who doesn't see right through her cliched answers about her expectations of marriage and a "life partner?" She is just blowing smoke and trying to give him the kind of answers she thinks he wants. If he picks her, then he is definitely not the stud I thought he was.

2. With the help of Courtney, my invaluable CFO, we made some progress towards getting my taxes done for 2009. What a friggin' headache that is. Ugh!

3. Did you see the amazingness that is Shaun White? How spectacular was that! I got the goosebumps while watching that live. We have been watching a lot of the Olympics around here and truly enjoying them this time. Chad has been enjoying watching his girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn. The U.S. has been kicking a$$ and taking names. I love it.

4. After a trip to the doctor this week, both my kids are now on antibiotics...bronchial and sinus infections, respectively. That makes for some snotty nosed kids who have not been too fun. I feel bad leaving them tomorrow while they still aren't 100%...well, I am sure I will get over it, somehow. Actually, I am a little nervous about how much I will miss them...no, I am sure I can find something to distract me ;)
5. Have you heard the new Michael Buble song? I didn't really appreciate it until I saw the video which is so cute. It really shows how witty and funny he is. He has a captivating personality. You can watch it here.
6. I just got the new Dan Brown book, The Lost Symbol, to read on my vacation. I have read all his books and can't get enough of them. I think his are the only books I have read in completion since Brynn was born, so I am setting the bar high for this vacation. It is not for lack of trying; I have started about 12-15 books in the last 3 1/2 years and they are all on my floor next to my nightstand collecting dust.
7. Finally, there is a new Target commercial about getting your bangs cut too short, have you seen it? I thought it curiously struck home with us here as it suggests different ways to hide them as they grow "a half inch per month" -- such as, hats, headbands, scarves, etc. I need to show it to Brynn.

Since I didn't get to blogging the last two days, I am combining these sneak peeks to save time. I have been shooting so many little girls lately, it was really refereshing to horse around with these little guys. I can't tell you how fun and cooperative they were. Well, you can just see for yourself:

Aiden is 1 year old already. Look at those "Big Red Apples" -- just like his mama ;) (inside joke).

He totally fell for all our tricks and did everything we asked him to. It was amazing because he usually has a mind of his own.

And sweet Finn is two! He was so excited to be getting away with jumping on mom & dad's bed...with his shoes on!

Once of my faves. Really, there are so many good ones from both of these sessions, it was hard to narrow it down.
He had been practicing his smiles all week.

We are going to Jamaica tomorrow with Finn's mom & dad.

To reward Finn's great smiles, we went to his favorite place in Geneva: Hahn's Bakery.
Think he was happy?

After his cookies, he eyeballed the doughnuts ;)

and the cupakes.

He wasn't ready to leave.

But we got him back outside. It was a beautiful day.

Happy Friday!
