Where in the world am I?

This weekend I am in Buffalo, New York to shoot Marty & Ashley's wedding. We had a free day today, so we headed across the Canadian border to check out Niagra Falls. Chad came with me this weekend so we are trying to fit in as much as we can. Ontario was a great city and nothing like I expected. Very built up and commercialized. The falls were a little bit different than I expected...I don't think they were as big as I pictured. Although, it was hard to get a good view to the other side with all the plume (how do you spell that?) or all the spray from the crashing water. We got soaked and it was like it was raining even though there were blue skies. I definitely would recommend a raincoat or umbrella if you are headed this way.

That is the plume a/k/a spray that I was talking about on the right. It blows right on to all the observers with cameras on the deck.

This sight made me think of the movie "Bruce Almighty"...."and that's the way the cookie crumbles..."
That is a real rainbow in the bottom of the frame.

If it looks like Chad is resisting my smooch, you would be correct. He can be such a stinker.
I thought this sign was a bit of an understatement.
Remember this guy from the movie "Big"?

This section downstream is called the "Whirlpool."

We visited the cutest little town today after the falls. Just north of the falls is Niagra on the Lake, it might be my new happy place. It was so cute and the homes there are to die for. We had an awesome lunch at an authentic English pub.

I loved all the vineyards in the area and made a quick stop to drag Tanya & Bobby out of the car with me. I would love to shoot a wedding out in Napa.

Here is a preview to the rehearsal dinner I shot tonight...I thought it was fitting that they served "Buffalo Wings." Of course when you're in Buffalo, you need to eat Buffalo wings.

Off to bed...need to be fresh for the wedding tomorrow :) Speaking of weddings. Here is a sneak peek of what is to come from my wedding from last weekend in Williamsburg, Virginia. Gorgeous!!

Heidi & John: Wedding

It is official. Wedding season has begun. This post is a week overdue, but I had such a hard time narrowing it down. Faye and I had such a good time with this bridal party and the bride & groom. You may remember them from their engagement session I did last summer in downtown Frankfort.

John's dad let us take some pics by his classic car, but only he was allowed to touch it ;)

Karleigh was camera ready as soon as I got there...no need to break the ice with this munchkin. She was cracking me up all day long.

You may remember from their engagement session that Karleigh is Heidi's daughter. They have an amazing bond and Karleigh played a special role throughout the whole day.

Karleigh and the ring bearer harassed me all day long ;)

Exchanging rings...
John not only made a promise to his bride, Heidi, he also promised to be true to little Karleigh with her own promise ring. It was a sweet moment that really touched Karleigh.

I love how expressive Heidi is!! She was a truly fun bride to be around. No BRIDEZILLA here!!

Heidi was all over the place making sure everyone was having a good time.

Gotta love the "Cha-Cha Slide!"

"How low can you go? Can you go down low? All the way to the floor?..."

Heidi, John & Karleigh I hope your trip to Hawaii is all you hoped it would be. I can't tell you how jealous I am. Thank you so much for including me in your big day. It was perfect.
