I knew that the piano has been a part of Carly's life for almost twelve years, so I wanted to track down a piano somewhere to get some shots with it for her senior session. The dreamer side of me desperately wanted to stick a piano in the middle of a field somewhere...well, let's just say that didn't quite pan out. Hey, pianos are heavy, ok?
I did the best I could and remembered my Aunt Ann has our family's old piano that I took lessons on in third grade. My piano career was cut short by an unfortunate episode with a Lee Press-On nail....needless to say, it ended with my finger in a splint and the loss of a finger nail. The piano lessons were put on hold and never resumed.
I was so flattered to hear that Carly was coming down here to see me all the way from Madison, Wisconsin. I knew her senior session was going to be something special.
I knew Carly was fun, colorful and bubbly, so I did my best to set the scene appropriately. A HUGE thank you to the ladies at 610 Home (a brand spankin' new AWESOME store in Geneva in the Design District for lending me this bench for the shoot -- more coming on them next week).
Then we ventured outdoors to mingle with nature a bit. A self-professed "nature girl," Carly didn't shy away from frolicking through the weeds and tall grasses. A girl after my own heart.
We didn't want to leave out little sis Shae since they had traveled all this way...
...or mom either. I can only imagine how hard it will be to see your little girl leave for college. Although sometimes I wonder if Brynn can get an early admission...KIDDING!!!
I can't thank you enough for coming down to let me do your senior pics. You are a beautiful girl inside and out and I am anxious to see what the future holds for you. Enjoy your senior year! All my best.
Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThank you so so much for these beautiful photos! I am elated and of course, crying.
