Ok, so I lied. This wedding is going to take three posts to complete it. Maybe four.
Laura & Dustin met at Illinois State University where they enjoyed several years together of partying and hanging out with some great friends. I think some class attendance was somewhere in there too ;) Their wedding was a true reflection of them as a couple. Laid back, easy going, beautiful, and fun.
This was a true destination wedding in that no one who attended was from Michigan. All the guests that made the trip traveled quite some distance to be there over the holiday weekend. Someone gave me the statistic that 60% of the guests were under the age of 27 at this wedding. That is a true testament to the type of friends that Laura & Dustin have...who I now feel like are my friends too. Oh, did I mention they like to par-tay?
If you also like to party, and are planning a wedding, then I can not stress how much you need to do a destination wedding. Everyone was staying at the resort, so there was no need for anyone to drive. It was a holiday weekend and a vacation-mode mentality was ever present.
All the girls took a moment to admire the dress as it hung patiently, waiting quietly, for Laura to slip into it.
Were there some Zeta's in the house?? A little sorority tradition with the blue ribbon tied around her waist...also, her 'something blue.'
I couldn't decide which one of these following images I liked better. But what I was certain about was how much I liked this bench. We took it out of Laura's suite relocated it outside. The Homestead is lucky there was not one in my room, because it would have made the trip home with me and had a happy new life in my house.
These girls were so supportive of Laura. She is a lucky girl to so have so many fabulous friends.
(This pic is giving me problems...I can't get it bigger....by the way, do you like the new bigger images?? Thank you Lyndsay!!)
