"Isn't Milwaukee an Indian name?"
"Why yes Pete, it is. Actually, pronounced 'Mil-e-wa-kay.' Which is Algonquin for "The Good Land."
Such an underrated city..."Mil-e-wa-kay." I spent the best day a few months ago with Meghan & Bill of Paladin Partners exploring the sights, taking some head shots for their new website and hanging out with Alice Cooper's roadies.
Random? I'll say.
First, Paladin Partners:
Megan and I met while she was a bridesmaid for Megan & Patrick's wedding last August in Palatine and she contacted me to do the head shots for her new business venture. They are so hot, if you pick up the December issue of Forbes Magazine, you can read this article all about them.
Their new website is still in the works, but I stole this from their current site:
Paladin Partners, LLC is an independent fee-only financial planning firm located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We help you clarify your goals, create a written plan for achievement of your goals, help you implement your plan, and review progress periodically.
Here are some of the images you may see on their new site:
After we were done shooting, I enjoyed a little photo safari fun time by myself.
While we were shooting around town, we got invited in to shoot backstage at the Pabst Riverside Theater while the roadies were setting up for Alice Cooper's show that night. Although Alice was not there, it was still a cool sight to see.
It is kind of ironic that Wayne & Garth saw Alice Cooper play in Milwaukee in the movie "Wayne's World" and then he happened to be playing there again when my path crossed with him 18 years later.
I got offered tickets for the show that night as well, but I had to get back home for another shoot that night. Now, if it were Kenny Chesney or the Rolling Stones, that shoot would have been rescheduled ;) No offense Alice, I just don't know that many of your songs.
All in all, the whole day was a wonderful experience and I made lots of new friends. Have I mentioned how much I love my job?
Also, check out Paladin Partners for all your financial needs. They really Rock. (Sorry, I couldn't resist ;)
