Katie & Jason: Wedding

I am not sure where the days go anymore. My existence is starting to get a little fuzzy as I am sensing a serious case of sleep deprivation creeping up and trying to consume me. Ky is a great baby, he sleeps well, but loves to eat...every 2 to 3 hours. I am trying to stay on top of all my responsibilities in my life, but I can feel the tight grasp I thought I had is now slowly loosening. I am afraid of letting these things slip through my fingertips.

On the other hand, this is my favorite time of year and I don't want to miss out on any of my favorite fall things: pumpkin spice candles, hazelnut cream coffee, football, the changing leaves, apple picking, and sweater weather. I am so excited for it all.
The wedding I was induced early for (Kyler was only 11 days old!) got me even more excited for fall than normal. I knew this was going to be an amazing wedding that I just had to be a part of and Katie and Jason did not disappoint. I am so excited to share some of my favorite images.
Faye and I met up with Katie and her family as they were putting on the finishing touches at the Herrington Inn in Geneva. My girl Kelly of Kelly's Hair Design was on hand to make these girls beautiful.

As Chad's and my anniversary approaches at the end of October, I was reminiscent of the wedding night we spent at the Herrington 8-years ago. This hotel is top notch.

Katie is so creative and put her own spin on all her details of the day. She got her bouquets of wildflowers from a Farmer's Market at T & H Farms in Marengo for a steal and applied the ribbons herself.

I could not get enough of her dress by Vineyard Collection from Veiled in Elegance in Geneva. I loved the belt and it even had pockets!

Katie's necklaces were such a good match together and I loved the eclectic look they added to her dress. They are made by a company based out of Arkansas called Scooples the Victorian Garden. She found them at a jewelry show called jf&a Show at Rosemont. They have this show I think 4 times a year.... It is jewelry fashion and accessories. The show sells EVERYTHING you can think of and it all super cheap or else cost prices. She saw the necklaces on the same displayer and thought it was one. When she found out that it was two, she bought both.
Katie's veil was designed by Erica Koesler and she got it at Veiled in Elegance in Geneva. Loved it!!
Katie has two older sisters who also recently got married...3 weddings in 14 months! Katie's mom gave them all a special gift on their wedding days.

Angel to always protect you
Acorn for hope
Heart so you will always have love
Peace sign for good luck
World because you hold the future in your hands

It was really sweet.
The photo on the mantle is of her grandparents and it made the trip to the Herrington. All the sisters had their photos taken with it on their wedding days.

The wedding ceremony and reception took place at T.F. Boonie's on the Tanna Farms Golf Course in Geneva by Mill Creek. It was the first ever wedding ceremony at Boonie's and it went off without a hitch. It was beautiful.

A few details from this perfect venue.

Katie & Jason included their "babies," Paris & Holly, in the wedding celebration.

The theme of the day was "trees." It was fitting because they got engaged above the trees on Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park while camping in Door County. Then they got married under a tree at Boonie's. Katie's mom helped them come up with the idea of incorporating a tree into their ceremony by using it to unify them. They added water and fertilizer to a tree that they will plant in the yard of their new home they closed on that very same week as their wedding.

The favors for their guests were pine trees. Isn't that creative?

Katie's cousins officiated the ceremony which put a beautiful personal touch on the celebration.

Love this shot. They are such goofballs...this was their idea ;)

How many brides you know want to play bean bags on their wedding day in their wedding dress?? Obviously, Katie & Jason are not your traditional bride and groom. That is why Boonie's was so perfect for them.

The fire pit was wonderful for keeping warm and for cooking the most delicious s'mores. They added a new twist which I had never seen before...Reese's Peanut Butter Cups instead of just Hershey's Chocolate with the marshmallows and graham crackers...mmm. I wish I would have thought of that this summer when I was prego and eating more s'mores than I had ever had in my entire life.

Katie & Jason, Faye and I loved being a part of your non-traditional wedding. I am so glad I got to be there and it all worked out. Thank you for everything and I hope you had a great time in Door County and on Mackinac Island. Enjoy your sneak peek!
